Workshop Technician | Permanent | NG7 2TU – Nottingham | £25,000

This Workshop Technician role goes much further than tool talks and to-do lists; you’ll have the opportunity to test yourself in a fast-paced environment whilst working on a novel, ground-breaking thermomechanical energy storage system. 

Cheesecake Energy is an established green-tech start-up poised for transformational growth, manufacturing and commercialising a Shell GameChanger and Innovate UK award-winning concept that’s now progressing from prototype to pilot stage.

Do You Offer…? 

• An apprenticeship-trained background, with proven industry experience in a workshop on top 

• Versatile skills across precision-engineered parts, hand tools, and CMM and measuring tools 
• The ability to read general assembly and engineering drawings, and Bills of Materials (BOM) 
• Insights into developing workshop processes in sync with business growth 
• Confident working knowledge of Microsoft Excel 

We’re looking for a Technician eager to make a difference. Rather than following orders and processes in a large corporate machine, here, you’ll be encouraged to offer ideas and push back on design and assembly issues.  

Based predominantly in the workshop, you’ll be responsible for accepting and checking the parts and components delivered from suppliers, assisting the design team in building these parts into demonstration systems and writing assembly processes. You’ll also take the lead on assembly risk assessment work. 

Reporting into our Manufacturing Engineer and working alongside a close-knit team of passionate experts based at Jubilee Park Campus, Nottingham, you’ll shape the future of a fast-growing green-tech start-up on a venture that could change the world by transforming climate change for the better.
